Koru Cafe reviews
31A bit on the expensive side for what you get. Just an ordinary home breakfast. Kids menu suited 5 and under the portions just doesn’t do it. But the best smoothie on the island and lovely customer service
A delightful little Cafe in a great location from the resort. Had sliders 2 ways, pulled pork and fish both were amazing and panzanella salad with tuna, omg it was fresh and the tuna was cooked perfectly. Mouth watering tasty and very reasonably priced consider the location. Highly recommend going here for lunch if you are visiting Aitutaki.
Amazing food, served by a great team in stunning tropical garden. I went on a busy Sunday and the team were very attentive to ensure I had a good time. The food was delicious and fresh. A must while on Aitutaki!
A MUST VISIT! Love this place multiple visits here, friendliest team, always greeted with smiles, freshest food & awesome coffee. Trying everything on the menu during our stay. Eveythings is super delicious and does not disappoint. Opens 7am - 2pm. Closed Monday.
Thanks team Koru cafe
Great coffee, friendly service, good food. If it's busy it will take a bit of time to get your food. But the scenery is lovely and you can watch the chickens roaming around. The cafe has fantastic baked goods. They sell their bread and mini pizzas at Baxter's Grocery. It is delivered around 7am each day except Mondays.
One of my favourite places on Aitutaki, I visited twice. They have a lovely team who warmly welcomes you. Really good stir-fried chicken and prawn noodles, a generous portion that really hit the spot! The omelette was average - a bit expensive for what was on the plate, but satisfying. The strawberry milkshake was a little small for the price, it’s probably better to go for the hot drinks. Highly recommend this place, it’s near Ootu beach which is one of the most beautiful beaches on Aitutaki. If you sit outdoors you will have roosters and mosquitoes as your companions
Yum food and good coffee! I had the BLT which was really good.
Lots of seating outside and also inside ️
Friendly staff and lovely breakfast located on a cute little spot! Atmosphere was so relaxing and very island feel! Thank you!
Staying nearby and popped in for breakfast. Was pretty busy at 8am which is normally a good sign where you've gone is going to be tasty - and it certainly was (although it did mean a little wait of around 15 mins on the coffee's - but well worth it).
Had a really nice egg and bacon roll with cheese and tomato relish. Also had an iced coffee - complete with ice cream. Was so tasty and felt like nice way to start the day - basically with dessert.

Koru Cafe remains a dependable lunchtime option on Aitutaki, particularly at those times when religions dictate other venues should close. Be sure to check out the daily specials, posted on the walls inside and out. They’ll alert you to things like the daily catch—mahi mahi three ways (NZ$30) —served beer battered, grilled, and as a heavily dressed Tahitian-style sashimi with salad and kinaki.
From the main cafe menu, a trio of Koru sliders (NZ$21) impress with tasty roast pork, fresh leaves and accompanying potato fries. The Koru seafood (NZ$30) is a board laden with fried and grilled fruits of the sea: beer battered fish (mahi mahi), squid and grilled prawns with chips, sauces and salad. The same fish also comes as a sandwich (NZ$14) with a lovely house-made tomato relish that didn’t really suit the mahi mahi and salad, but was great with my dining companion’s chips. We washed our meals down with tropical smoothies and ice-cold Steinlager in branded stubby-holders with newly hatched chickens milling at our feet.
Stumbled across this Cafe by accident but so glad we did. There's seating both inside (great air conditioning) and outside, with very easy parking.
I ended up getting a big breakfast and couldn't finish it due to how healthy a portion it was. There are plenty of options for adding extras as well.
Staff were super friendly and prices were very reasonable.
This place is awesome! The bread is as good as anything we can get back in Auckland. I had the fish sliders and they were simply delicious, very reasonably priced and incredible food, only disappointment was they were closed (family emergency) all but one day we were there, otherwise we would have lived there for lunch. A MUST do!
My partner and I loved this place! The setting with all the greenery, palm trees, the chickens running around, it was gorgeous! The food was also so good, a great selection and some awesome specials too. They also have their own vanilla chai style drink which you have to try! Wish one of these would open up in Christchurch!
Excellent steak & eggs, caramel milkshake and coffee. Would come here every day for lunch and dinner if they opened for dinner!
Amazing food! The sashimi and calamari was so yum, and the smoothie was refreshingly delicious! And the best service!
Stop here and eat everything. Will be back tomorrow to try the fish sandwich!
Loved this cafe - such a wonderful, relaxing place to get brunch! Their takeaway sandwiches are incredibly reasonably priced and an awesome lunch at the beach or while out on an adventure. They have a range of options, from a classic eggs benedict to an island twist on sliders. Really great, delicious food and a wonderful team! I highly recommend their iced coffee and mudcake - so cheap and sooooo good!
Super coffe, wonderful breakfast, amazing service! I bought also some of their bottled Beer coolers-so useful
Good coffee, great bakery, and, like the rest of the island, lovely staff. All set in a pacific paradise. Pretty amazing.
Amazing food and staff. Great coffee. Reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend visiting on your next trip.
Excellent food and a bloody good coffee. Trina has also AirBNB, very well setup and you should stay there if you get a chance:)
