Sails Restaurant & iSobar / Rarotongan Sailing Club reviews
47 Amazing service, friendly staff. The food was incredible and views over Muri beach were stunning. A meal for two including beverages cost around NZD40.
Drinks menu had reasonable variety which was good to see.
The food menu had a great variety, definitely coming back!
There was a spot for us to chain our bikes up too which was handy.
Just realised, this is the Rarotonga Sailing Club.
Another great spot, on the lagoon in the heart of Muri.
Extensive menu (great burgers), cold beer, cocktails.
Expansive deck, they tell me there's even sailing on occasion.
They open early (at least they did until the tourists left).
Can be a bit windy but then again - it is a yacht club - what do you expect?
Very nice spot for a bite to eat and a cold beer. Ordered chips and calamari from the snack menu. Both came out fast, hot, fresh and absolutely delicious.
Staff very friendly too.
Nice spot if you are looking for a spot to grab a drink and dinner, a finer dinning experience compares to the bars
We contact Sails to host a pre wedding celebration for our large group of family & friend on the 28th of May 2019. The cocktial food package that the team provided was delicous and plentiful! So many of our family & friends raved how it was the "best fish & chips" that they have had. The location is great as well and also becme a great meeting spot with friends througout our week in the Cook Islands.
Friendly service. Good food. Reasonable priced. Great views from the table. Would come back again for sure.
A bit pricey and drinks order where often forgotten. However the view of Muri Beach from the deck is just stunning and that was the main reason for coming back all week
Very disappointed. Cocktail was horrible, expresso. Fish burger and chips. Bun was burnt, coleslaw had too much mayo in it. Would not go back.
Visited restaurant when they weren't busy and must say I'm a tad disappointed. Waited 20 minutes while people coming after us got served and we were ignored. The food looked amazing from afar but gave up waiting for it so I guess will never know will we.
Very good choice for lunch/dinner, enjoyable coffee. Nice views from a terrace on neighbouring mini-islands (especially Koromiri). Suitable for tourists staying around Muri beach of visitors of this part of Rarotonga island. Prices are relatively reasonable, staff is very attentative, so can recommend. It's maybe 2 minutes walk from the main road. So you have to walk just straight and when you pass 5th rooster, then turn right ;)
I ordered a Pina Colada and it tasted nothing like Pina Colada, basically 17 dollars to drink only ice.
Delicious food in an amazing location. What stopped it from being five stars was that I felt, being on my own, a bit rushed - that instead of savouring the surroundings and experience everything came out super fast. Would definitely recommemd it however.
Just went for lunch. Was a bit sceptical as the place seems a bit run down, however the chicken Vietnamese salad was one of the best I have had. Delicious.
Beautiful beachside location, friendly service and good food. Memorable! We enjoyed the shared platter- a great way to sample local specialities.
The view is amazing - no exaggeration- just the best view on the island.
The connection to the sailing club appears to be limited to physical proximity as nobody knew anything about it and our efforts to exchange our club burgee were futile.
Service was informal but prompt. We had a couple of seafood platters for $35 and $45 NZ and these were sufficient for four of us. Both food and drink prices were way below what we had been paying in Moorea and Bora Bora
Not the high end experience we expected but still enjoyable just watching the action on the water in front of us.
We enjoyed a good evening meal here, though I do wish I'd gone for the fish as it was really tasty, still I opted for the burger and that was good enough. The place was busy during the happy hour which is when we came in to see the menu. We opted for a later evening meal, didn't make a reservation and luckily when we arrived we got a table after a short wait, the place gets busy. A jug of beer while waiting for the food was a pleasant way of passing time, though the food was worth waiting for.
Get an outdoor table if you can. Lucky we booked as there was a line out the door. Highly recommended.
Went here for dinner twice over our stay on Muri. Firstly, this is a great location with great views. There is a vast drinks menu and plenty of food options. The food was good as well, especially the fish tacos. What we struggled with was the service levels. Confused wait staff forgetting drinks orders, confusing orders, etc. Otherwise a solid 4 star rating.
Great prices for happy hour 3 - 6pm. Right on beach front. Menu looks fab. Will try before we go home
Good happy hour, nice ambience and delicious food with decent portions.
But limited options if vegetarian (only had a salad or sides) and if sitting outside, can be very windy
